Go Ask Dad

This is our regular feature on this blog called Go Ask Dad. This is a place where people can ask us any question, and I, sheshe, or one of the kids will attempt to answer it. We will answer questions about us, or try to help you with what is going on in your family. We will answer just about any question that applies to home, family, homeschooling, or adoption. We will even say "I don't know" when we don't.

From a Biblical perspective, what are your thoughts on "attachment disorder" or "reactive attachment disorder" and the prevailing thought that it must be treated by a professional psychologist with a Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder approach?

I am sure this will take a whole new post for Bob to answer, rather than a "comment". We have very definite ideas on this and, as you can guess, they are not what you might call "mainstream ideas". ;-)

Well, I can't give you an unbiased opinion but my observation is that you and Ramona work together in a biblical way and seek wise council and always seek God's guidance.
That is not to say you are perfect but you are open to learning by your mistakes.
You are consistant in your discipline and do not lose your tempers(most of the time). You communicate with each other and with each child. I have seen little partiality and lots of love and openess to each child. Both of you have a lot of "sweat equity" in each child-listening as well as instructing in time that many others might spend in other pursuits. I think that homeschooling and not watching constant television has help to screen out lots of cultural and peer influence that goes contrary to Godly living. And most importantly I see God's Grace over all.

Sorry I got that post in the wrong place. I meant to put it as a comment to What's A "Real Family",
